The local Thrivent Builds Habitat home in Lawndale was dedicated on December 2 and the Real Munoz family is expected to move in soon, after escrow closes. Thanks to all in our congregation who supported this project in 2011! As of early November, the total contributions of the 20 Lutheran churches supporting the project was about 10% short of the $37,174 needed to meet the Lutheran congregation portion of the total funding needs of the 2011 project. Our congregation has met its $1200 pledge and we are asking for additional voluntary donations to raise an additional $120-150 through December to help meet the total funding needs and to provide a small surplus in order to give the homeowner family a housewarming gift card. I hope you can reach into your hearts and come up with some loose change over the next few weeks for the water bottle in the Narthex or add a few extra dollars to your normal offerings and designate them to "Thrivent Builds" or just "Habitat" and they will be placed in the proper account. Thrivent recently approved funding for another local area home for 2012 which will be in the Lynwood area. Thanks for your continued support for this wonderful project.
