Reasons to Be Grateful

Congregational meetings, such as the one we held this past Sunday, serve several purposes and highlight various aspects of our ministry together. If we look just a little beyond the reports and votes, we see a rich tapestry, made up of many people and their hard work, that truly is Trinity Lutheran Church and School. I'd like to highlight some of them in this article.

Volunteers, past and present.

You are the heart and soul of this place! Some, who are just coming off of their terms of service, deserve a hearty "Thank You!" from all of us for their years of service and support of ministry. Cathe Erickson, Paul Davis, Pat Pollet, Fran Aasness, Kristin Phillips, Trudy Wadman, Brad Arnold, Darlene Hansen, Berlayne Cook, Rich Johnson and John Brewer. Of Special Note in this group is Bob Plitt, who has served as Financial Secretary (keeping track of donations) for 18 years (!). I imagine he would likely still be doing it but he retired from his job and is moving to Maryland this year - probably the only sure way to get out of the job! Bob, we'll miss you and your service for all these years!

New and continuing volunteers on the Executive Committee are Richard Johnson (President), Jeff Sharp (Vice President), Brooke Frodsham (Secretary), and Fred Noah (Treasurer), and on the Boards and committees: (Evangelism and Spiritual Life) Cedette Jackman, Bob Phillips;

It is a privilege and honor to be sharing in the ministry of Christ's Church with all of you! Thank you all so much!

Lenten Services: "The Valleys of Lent"

Lent begins EARLY this year - Ash Wednesday is on February 9th!!! Didn't we just have Christmas? This year, our Lenten devotional services center around a series of readings on the valleys mentioned in scripture - often places that are dark, scary, lonely or challenging. How does God's Word come to us during those times in life?

An added feature this year is the Children's program, which will be held at the same time the services are held (on Wednesdays after Ash Wednesday) in the Parish Hall. Join us for home-made soup at 6 pm and a service for adults and kids at 6:30.
